Safe Ride
Safety Notice and Terms of Use
Effective date: July 31, 2026
These terms explain the safety purpose, important limitations and conditions for using Safe Ride. By installing or using the app, you agree to use it responsibly and in accordance with applicable traffic, employment and privacy law.
Safety comes first
Safe Ride is intended to reduce distraction. It does not make phone interaction safe while a vehicle or bicycle is moving. Configure the app before departure and stop in a safe, legal place before changing settings, confirming passenger status or troubleshooting.
No substitute for attention or the law
The driver or rider remains responsible for the vehicle, road awareness, emergency decisions and compliance with local laws. Safe Ride is not a certified vehicle-safety system, emergency service, navigation system, telematics recorder or insurance device.
Standard Android limitations
On a normal consumer phone, Android does not allow Safe Ride to universally block every system app, incoming call, SMS, notification, system setting or power control. The app uses official Android APIs to present a full-screen driving interface, request Do Not Disturb behaviour and discourage unsafe interaction. A user can still stop, uninstall or reset an unmanaged app through Android.
Managed devices
Stronger Lock Task or kiosk restrictions require a properly provisioned Device Owner device. Device Owner setup must be performed deliberately by an authorised organisation, normally on a factory-new or factory-reset device. A Safe Ride subscription does not automatically make a phone managed. Employers remain responsible for lawful deployment, employee information, device ownership and emergency access.
Speed and activity detection
Activation depends on available GPS, reported accuracy, sustained speed and Android activity confidence. Sensor errors, tunnels, poor reception, battery restrictions, device placement or manufacturer behaviour can delay or prevent detection. Never rely on Safe Ride as the only safety measure.
Driver and passenger detection
Camera- and signal-based driver detection is experimental. It requires permission, calibration, a stable dashboard mount and visible operation. It can be wrong and is not biometric identification. Camera predictions alone never justify a permanent device lock.
Calls, messages and emergencies
Safe Ride can silence ordinary alerts when Android grants Notification Policy Access, but it cannot guarantee that calls or messages will not reach the device. Bluetooth audio routing differs between phones and vehicles. Emergency access remains available, but availability still depends on the phone, network, region and Android dialler.
Subscriptions and purchases
Paid plans, trial availability, prices, taxes, renewals, cancellation and refunds are handled through Google Play where offered. The current price shown by Google Play controls. Features are unlocked only after a valid purchase state and, for business plans, successful server verification. Custom Enterprise integrations, EMM, SSO, APIs or service commitments require a separate written agreement.
Family and business administration
Account owners and authorised administrators are responsible for selecting users, roles, devices, permitted apps and policies. A local administrator PIN is a convenience control, not a substitute for Android Device Owner management, proper identity administration or organisational security procedures.
Acceptable use
Do not use Safe Ride to unlawfully monitor another person, bypass employer or platform security, interfere with emergency communication, misrepresent driving behaviour or deploy device restrictions without proper authority and notice.
Availability and changes
Android, Google Play, Bluetooth, location, camera and device-management behaviour can change. Vamit may update, replace, restrict or discontinue features to maintain safety, security, legal compliance or platform compatibility. Updates may be required for continued cloud or subscription functionality.
Disclaimer and liability
Safe Ride is provided as a practical safety aid. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vamit does not guarantee uninterrupted detection, universal blocking, accident prevention, driver identification or compatibility with every phone, vehicle and accessory. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by Belgian law, subject to mandatory consumer protections and applicable jurisdiction rules. Questions can be sent to support@vamit.net.
Do not interact while moving. If Safe Ride requires attention, continue safely and handle it only after stopping in a safe and legal place.
